The stakeholders are extension officers, research Institutions (IIAM), Departments of Agriculture, local NGOs, poultry industry and input market.

Objectives:

  • Monitor crop performance on farmers’ plots
  • Monitor crop performance in on-station plots
  • Monitor resources flow both on-farm and on-station
  • Use participatory tools to assess crop performance (productivity and quality)
  • Hold several workshops with stakeholders to:
    • discuss sustainability of scenarios of crop intensification with and without intercropping,
    • identify possible trade-offs to be accounted for to favour intercropping against “simplification” of the cropping system“
  • Use crop models to simulate resources flow and crop performance.
